Luxury condo living. Considered the nicest area in downtown Vancouver, the views of the North Shore, Stanley Park and Burrard Inlet are phenomenal. Coal Harbour is the most expensive area, but certainly a worthy investment, attracting some of the wealthiest people from around the world. It features some of the main tourist attractions, including, Canada Place with it’s tall ship sails design, the Vancouver World Trade Centre, Vancouver Cruise Ship terminal, and the Vancouver Convention Centre.
Coal Harbour is a nature lover’s paradise. A stone’s throw distance to Stanley Park, one of the best rated parks in the entire world. The Harbour Seawall also borders Coal Harbour, offering the perfect spot for a walk, jog, or bike ride. If you need to relieve some stress there is no better feeling than a bike ride through Stanley Park while looking out at absolutely breath taking views. Coal Harbour is my personal favourite.
Lord Roberts Elementary School and Lord Roberts Annex Elementary are both within walking distance of Coal Harbour. For older kids, The renowned King George Secondary School is also nearby. If you prefer private school over the public system, Pattison High School is a great option nearby. It offers private education for grades 8-12. Another private school option is The Westside School. It offers two locations, one for grades K-9, the other for 10-12. Both options are within walking distance.
For continued education, The University of British Columbia has a downtown campus featuring Continuing Studies, Faculty of Law and Faculty of Medicine. They also offer the respected Sauder School of Business, providing part-time MBA Studies. Also nearby, on Seymour Street there is the downtown campus for BCIT (British Columbia Institute of Technology) with a plethora of courses available.
Over at Harbour Centre on West Hastings, Simon Fraser University offers a full selection of continuing studies. Another downtown location (Gastown), in the iconic Woodwards Building, is SFU’s renowned School for Contemporary Arts.
Shopping & Restaurants:
Plenty of high end shopping and restaurants in Coal Harbour. Such as Tap and Barrel, Cardero’s Restaurant, and arguably one of the nicest Cactus Club’s you’ll ever see, located right along the water. Watch the float planes roll in while enjoying your morning coffee at one of the many cafes. Just a short walk to all the shopping on Robson Street.
Like much of Vancouver Coal Harbour is no different, public transportation is very accessible. The Waterfront skytrain station is located in Coal Harbour and will take you to Richmond, Vancouver Airport and many other options. There are plenty of buses available in the Coal Harbour area as well. If you are looking to get to the North Shore, or the local mountains, Coal Harbour offers a short commute.
